MODISS Modiss Illuminacion embraces traditional Spanish design, adding to it a sophisticated modern flair. Created in Barcelona by Alfonso Fontal, its principal designer, Modiss brings extensive experience in the lighting sector and offers contemporary classical, elegant products at reasonable prices. THE COMPANY In 1994 Alfonso Fontal, a student of Industrial Design, submitted his lighting creations to the Primavera del Diseño competition. His extraordinary work was selected and displayed in Barcelona’s Palau de la Virreina. This public recognition prompted Alfonso to craft his first lights using mirror and stand accessories, which he debuted with great success at the International Lighting Fair. The enormous success of Modiss lights at domestic and international fairs has enabled the company to grow, culminating in the move to its current location - an impressive office space and show room in Poblenou, the artistic heart of Barcelona. DESIGN Modiss presents innovative design in its new collection, a fusion of retro and avant-garde, which was presented at FIAM 2004. Modiss uses transparent materials with a focus on delicate tonalities like beige, blue, pink and white.
